# UseIt

> UseIt is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace operating in Canada. Users list physical
> products (tools, electronics, outdoor gear, party supplies, fashion, baby gear, etc.)
> for rent; renters book by date range, pay securely via Stripe, and exchange items via
> a QR-code pickup/return flow. The platform is bilingual (English + French).

## Service area

Canada. Currently focused on Quebec and Ontario metropolitan areas; expanding nationwide.
All financial flows (payouts, taxes) are scoped to Canadian banking and Canadian
provincial/federal tax rates.

## What UseIt is for

- Renters: find items nearby, book with verified availability, pay only for what you use.
- Owners: monetize idle items (power tools, cameras, camping gear, etc.) with secure
  payments and identity-verified renters.
- Both roles share one account — every user can rent and lend without separate profiles.

## What UseIt is not

- Not a vehicle or accommodation marketplace. Cars and lodging are explicitly out of scope.
- Not a subscription service. Listing is free; revenue comes from a per-booking fee.
- Not for the sale of goods — rental only.
