Authentication
UseIt utilizes OAuth 2.0 and OpenID for user identification and permissions, relying on the Auth0 platform for managing user permissions. Users can conveniently create accounts using their Google or Apple credentials.

To streamline platform usage, users can act both as product suppliers and renters without any restrictions on specific requests.
Smart Geolocation
The platform utilizes geolocation for users to receive relevant search results, with the option to decline geo-positioning permissions, utilizing IP addresses for approximate positioning instead.

Product Listings
UseIt prioritizes user experience by allowing the publication of diverse products (excluding cars and accommodations). Default categories are provided with potential for expansion over time.
Advanced Search
The platform enables users to conduct searches based on their specific requirements, utilizing various search criteria, desired dates, and keywords to enhance product identification.
Calendar & Availability
Each product features its own calendar of availabilities. The search function dynamically displays products based on availability. Calendars are systematically updated after each booking to prevent conflicts. Owners will soon be able to specify custom unavailability periods.
How The Process Works
A straightforward and secure five-step booking process.
Product Selection & Booking
Users select and reserve a product based on predefined criteria, with a credit card required for booking. The application holds the booking amount upon owner confirmation.
Booking Confirmation/Rejection
Product owners have three days to accept or reject bookings. Upon confirmation, the booking amount is withdrawn from the renter's credit card.
Product Pickup
Renters pick up the product at the designated address and date. Exchanging a code for identity confirmation is required.
Product Return
Renters return the product to the same address, confirming with an exchange of code.
Termination & Review
Both parties can rate their experience and provide reviews within five days after product return. The booking amount is held for five business days before payout to the owner.
Secure Payments
UseIt utilizes Stripe services for payments, currently accepting credit cards with plans to integrate other payment methods in the future.
Direct Payouts
Owner revenue is sent to their Canadian checking accounts, requiring account details provided on the UseIt platform. Payouts are processed five business days after booking termination. Money transfer delays could occur depending on the owner’s bank specifications.
